Back in October, when MXTabs.net first unveiled our Tab Editing functionality, we also mentioned a little somethin’ somethin’ we termed Tab Details. Basically, Tab Details are additional bits of information provided by a tabber that are relevant to their specific guitar, bass or drum tab, such as: What types of effects pedals are needed to play your guitar tab? Does your bass tab require a 4-string or 5-string bass? What drum kit components are used in your drum tab?… you get the picture.

At the time we stated that we would start displaying this information on tab display pages in the near future. Well, that time has arrived! You can now view Tab Details on any MXTabs.net guitar, bass & drum tabs that have had this additional data added to them. The Tab Details will display just to the right of the tab itself. Here’s an example: From the Inside Out a Guitar Tab by Hillsong United.

We’re displaying these Tab Details in the hopes of providing musicians with as much pertinent information as possible when learning a new tab. As far as we know, no other tab site offers anything similar to this, which just goes to show you how serious MXTabs.net is about providing the best guitar, bass & drum tabs on the interwebz.

One thing we’d like to point out – and this is important – is that all Tab Details are provided by you, the tabber. As such, we strongly encourage anyone who has submitted a tab to MXTabs.net in the past to login and edit your tabs to include this additional information. Once logged in, simply look for the Edit This Tab button in the black strip directly above your tab, or look for the Edit This Tab link in the “submitted tabs” area of your MXTabs.net profile page. Just a few minutes of your time will help other musicians immensely in learning your tab.

The arrival of the New Year last week signaled the official end of the 2000s, a decade that brought us – musically – much to cheer about. To honor “The Noughties,” today MXTabs.net would like to highlight Guitar, Bass & Drum Tabs for the Best Music of the Decade. How did we decide what the best music of the decade was? Well, we didn’t. We left that up to metacritic.com, a website that compiles music reviews from respected critics and then gives particular songs, albums, or artists a weighted average score.

So, based on their findings, who was the #1 artist of the 2000s? Wait for it… wait for it… SPOON! That’s right, American indie rockers Spoon were the best reviewed band of the decade according to metacritic. Now, before you fly off the handle saying that Band X or Band Y put out WAY better material during this time, please read Ten Years of Metacritic: The Best Music of the Decade. Not only will this article provide you with metacritic’s full list of top reviewed artists of the decade, but it will also tell you the specific criteria they used to determine the rankings.

At the beginning of December we did a post about the many great Christian Rock and CCM Guitar, Bass & Drum Tabs available on MXTabs.net. Now, right on cue it seems, yet another leading producer of praise and worship music has agreed to license their song tabs with MXTabs.net: Integrity Music.

Integrity Music controls publishing rights to some of the biggest bands/artists in Contemporary Christian music, including Hillsong United, Paul Baloche, Lincoln Brewster, and Israel Houghton. With this new licensing agreement in place, MXTabs.net is pleased to begin offering guitar, bass & drum tabs of your favorite songs by these artists, as well as all of the artists listed on the Integrity Music Artists Page.
