Earlier this week the ultimate Punk-Pop revivalists Green Day – in conjunction with Harmonix, MTV Games, and Warner Bros. Records – released the fifth major console game in the popular Rock Band music video game series: Green Day: Rock Band.

We at MXTabs.net love the Rock Band series. In fact, if you were to attend one of our occasional get-togethers, chances are you’d probably end up with a guitar controller in your hands before the night was over! However, as fun as it is sometimes, we also know that to rock out in the “real” world we must eventually put down the controllers, pick up our “real” instruments, and do some “real” practicing.

Green Day: Rock Band Guitar, Bass & Drum Tabs

The way I see it, the saying “revenge is a dish best served cold” has a dual connotation. Perhaps the most obvious meaning is that a certain degree of emotional detachment (or coldheartedness) is needed to successfully enact revenge. A second, more subtle meaning, is that the best revenge occurs only after a sufficient amount of time has passed between the original misdeed and one’s retaliation. By allowing the situation to “cool down,” the person seeking revenge will lull the original wrongdoer into thinking that they got away with their actions, then BAM!!! Sweet revenge.

I’d be willing to bet that everyone reading this post has at some point in their life wanted to get revenge on somebody who mistreated them. It’s human nature.
